That was me, in the center, in 2006. This website bears my name (an alias for my full name), and I'm a retired American male. It makes no sense to add my name as a byline in an article. If I someday decide to post an article for someone else, that article will include that person's name.

I'm Twice Retired

I retired from the military in 1998. I retired for social security purposes in 2022. I haven't worked for 20 years except for writing articles. Although it wasn't one of my goals, I made money from it, which came in handy when I wanted to buy things I could not otherwise afford.

I relocated to the Philippines with my wife, Josie, right after leaving my previous job, and we now reside here. In 2006, housing prices rose sharply, and we earned enough money from selling our house to build another house and more in the Philippines.

Our younger son moved to the Philippines several months before we did, before we even decided to sell our house. He stayed with his grandmother, my mother-in-law, until our house was completed. Our older son traveled with us in 2006, and stayed for two weeks before returning to the United States.

Our younger son returned to the United States in 2012. Since then, Josie and I have lived alone in a three-bedroom, three-bath house. We rarely have enough guests to fill every room.

Josie and I visit our children in the United States on occasion. The longest period was during the COVID-19 pandemic. We had to wait until 2022 to return because of Philippine travel restrictions.

The Purpose of This Website

Although I previously made money blogging, I won't be attempting to do so again. My domain name cost me very little, and my hosting is free. The main purpose is to write articles to myself with information I need more than once. I can't rely on memory anymore.

The secondary purpose is to share my thoughts on things that are important or interesting to me. I have no idea if anyone will ever read what I write, but that's okay. It isn't necessary.
