I'm Twice Retired
I retired from the military in 1998. I retired for social security purposes in 2022. Other than writing on blogs, I've been unemployed for 20 years. Although it wasn't one of my goals, I made money from it, which came in handy when I wanted to buy things I couldn't otherwise afford.
I moved to the Philippines with my wife (Josie) where I currently live, shortly after resigning from my last place of employment. Housing prices were inflated in 2006, and we made enough from the sale of our house to build a house and more in the Philippines.
Our younger son moved to the Philippines several months before we did, before we even decided to sell our house. He lived with his grandmother, my mother-in-law, until our house was finished. Our older son traveled with us in 2006, and stayed for two weeks before returning to the United States.
Our younger son returned to the United States in 2012. Since then, Josie and I have lived alone in a three-bedroom, three-bath house. We rarely have enough guests to fill every room.
Josie and I visit our children in the United States on occasion. The longest period was during the COVID-19 pandemic. We had to wait until 2022 to return because of Philippine travel restrictions.
The Purpose of This Website
Although I previously made money blogging, I won't be attempting to do so again. My domain name cost me very little and my hosting is free. The main purpose is to write articles to myself with information I need more than once. I can't rely on memory anymore.
I won't support comments on this website. It's simply not worth the hassle.
